| Review: | The good part about Healthtrax is that it is hardly ever overcrowded. The exercise circuit, which was added last year, is a welcome addition. The ugly part of Healthtrax is that the swimming pool and hot tub are usually very cold, most often on weekends. The locker rooms are mostly dirty, especially in the showers, which often have insects. The staff is not as friendly as it should be, especially on weekends. Turnover seems to be higher at Healthtrax than at any other fitness club I have belonged to. A lot of the times, staff members are standing around complaining about their company or gossiping about each other. We as members don't need to hear that. On weekends, too many of the staff members treat the public like interruptions to reading magazines, talking on their cell phones or reading their e-mails on line. There are only a couple of fitness trainers who seem to know much about fitness. I also don't appreciate fitness instructors who treat me like a prospect for a date. I know other women who have felt the same way. If you don't want to exercise with a lot of children around, this is a good place to be. There are not many families who belong to this club. One family I know left Healthtrax to join the YMCA because they got the impression Healthtrax didn't really want kids around, especially on weekends. For what you get, Healthtrax is somewhat overpriced. I am now in the process of exploring other clubs. I don't think I will be renewing my membership. |
